Most of the cost of home care is covered by your Support at Home budget, which is funded by the government based on your assessed needs. You're not paying the full hourly rate out of pocket for most services.
What's included at no cost to you
Clinical supports — nursing, wound care, medication management — carry no participant contribution at all. The full cost is covered.
What might involve a contribution
Everyday living services like domestic help, and independence services like social support, may involve an income-tested contribution. This is assessed by Services Australia based on your personal financial situation, not set by your provider.
